In Year 3 we have recently finished reading Roald Dahl’s AMAZING book, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and so, when we were asked to create a scarecrow for the Broughton Estate Children’s Literature Festival, we knew exactly which book character we were going to choose: Willy Wonka in his Candy Garden! The children loved painting large scale sweets which look tempting enough to eat!
Nursery, Year 3, Year 4 and Year 5 pupils have all been involved in making scarecrows for Broughton Estate Children’s Literature Festival. The festival takes place in the estate grounds on 28-30th September and promises to be a truly SPECTACULAR weekend. We look forward to seeing the children’s scarecrows in situ on the estate grounds. They all look simply stunning!
