Year 1 have been learning about 2D and 3D shapes in Maths this week. We have been looking at shapes both indoors and outdoors. The children have talked about the properties of the shape they have found as well as naming the shape. Well done Year 1.
Year 1 have been reading the story Little Red Riding Hood. We have been role playing the story in lots of different ways, drawing story maps, creating characters on the computer and completing writing challenges. Good job Year 1!
The Year 1 children have been working hard in Maths this week. We have been learning about the place value of each digit in a two-digit number. See if your child can talk to you about the number of tens and ones in a two-digit number. Well done Year 1. A great first week back.

Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 started off Wednesday this week with a special Christmas breakfast. Just as we had finished, an unexpected visitor arrived.
The Year 1 children have been looking at different poems this week. We have been identifying rhyming words, discussing what we like and don’t like and explaining our reasons why. We have been learning a poem about The Great Fire of London. Can your child tell you the poem?

Year 1 enjoyed spending time in the Library on Thursday with Mrs Dunn. The children listened to a story, changed their books and took part in Tai Chi. Don’t forget Library for Year 1 is every Thursday. Thank you Mrs Dunn ☺
