A really warm welcome to all our new Reception (2018/19) parents!! We are so pleased you have chosen to join our Gisburnm Road family. There is a letter coming home today, either with your child or through the post, with details of our Induction Evening. #teamgisburnroad 😁
A special thank you for bringing in some farmhouse bread for everyone to try in Reception. The children enjoyed this experience and are looking forward to tasting other types of bread.
Reception had fun holding their butterflies today. They tried to let them go but they didn’t want to fly away today.
Ilse, Leslie and Pam, the amazing volunteers from Barlick in Bloom came in today to help the Year 2 children plant seeds and divide plants in preparation for displays this summer. Gisburn Road is proud to support Barnoldswick in Bloom as they do such a fantastic job around the town.
Huge thanks to Phil Downing from Taekwondo School of Excellence for his Taster Day today working with Reception, Year 1, 2, 3 and 5. Phil taught the children lots of new skills throughout their lesson. If your child is interested in trying out Taekwondo after today’s lesson, then please check for more information on your child’s leaflet that they were given today off
Reception have started off our Sports week by running their first mile. They all did a fabulous job.

Year 6 and Reception (Gardeners & Seeds) had a lovely time reading and playing together today 😃 #nurture #care #buddies
Reception Class did some amazing climbing in PE today. We got the climbing frame out to see how high we could climb to and the children climbed right to the top without any assistance – showing lots of confidence throughout! Well done Reception.
Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 started off Wednesday this week with a special Christmas breakfast. Just as we had finished, an unexpected visitor arrived.
