We’ve had breakfast and just had a look around York Minster before our Viking tour at the Jorvik Centre at 11am.
Year 2 children representing Gisburn Road at the Barlick in Bloom judging yesterday. The judges came to look at our planter near the Co-op zebra crossing and visited our allotment.
A few pictures from today. We did the Chocolate Factory followed by York Museum. We then had McDonalds for tea and a play on the park. The children are all now showered and getting ready for bed.
Year 6 have landed in York and are now in the hostel getting all sorted for the Chocolate factory at 1:30 this afternoon.

Our third BRONZE in 3 weeks!! The Year 5/6 boys Cricket team won bronze medal this afternoon at Colne Cricket Club in the Pendle Schools finals day. The boys won 1 game and lost 1 game in the group stages before setting up a place in the 3rd/4th place match for Bronze medal. The boys…

Spreading the happiness in Reception today. We had a little water fight to try and cool down a little. ? The children could choose if they wanted to take part or not.
Thank you for all the support with sun cream and hats for your child. Please keep this up during this hot weather. We have kept the children cool today in their PE kits if needed and by having shaded tarpaulin on the yards. Not forgetting of course ice lollies which are sold by the year…
Another BRONZE medal!! A team of Year 5/6 children came 3rd out of over 10 schools that entered this morning at Holt House in the Pendle Schools Orienteering Competition meaning we came away with another bronze medal – carrying on the great recent news in our sports competitions. Well done to the Year 4/5 mixed cricket team who very narrowly missed out on getting to the final this afternoon at Colne Cricket Club and finished the competition in joint 3rd position. Great work guys! ?

This week the children in Year 2 have found out about John Boyd Dunlop and the invention of the pneumatic tyre. We devised our own tests to compare a solid tyre with a pneumatic tyre. Ask the children about what we found out.

Today we had a special visitor- Ella Shaw!! ? Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalist, Ella, came into school today to sing for us all. She shared with the children how she started with her karaoke machine to ending up auditioning for BGT. Thanks Mrs Baptie for organising the visit- Ella was amazing!!!
Year 6 completed their sponsored walk up to the top of Weets today!! A massive well done to them. We are all so proud of them- great effort, great attitude and to top it off – they sang too! ??? Did you hear them?? ?

A group of children from Year 5/6 enjoyed their Duathlon Challenge this afternoon at the Steven Burke Cycling Hub in Barrowford organised by British Cycling. They all had to run 400 metres, cycle 800 metres and then run another 400 metres. They all completed the challenge and scored some great individual times! ? ?♂️
The Year 3/4 Boys Football team enjoyed their first competition tonight at Fisher More High School. They all did fantastic and scored some great goals! ⚽️

A team of children from Year 3/4 enjoyed a warm afternoon in an Orienteering Festival. The children learnt how to use their maps to find the correct control cards. A big thank you to Coates Lane for hosting the event and making it a nice and enjoyable afternoon for all our children.
Our broad beans were in desperate need of being planted out so the Year 2 children were in the allotment today planting and minibeast hunting. We discussed how important minibeasts are and have decided to make bug hotels for the allotment to encourage more to live there.
Well done to this team of children from Year 5&6 who did brilliant in the Cross Country competition at Holt House in Colne this afternoon. Despite the extremely warm weather conditions, all of the children never once gave up and carried on running throughout to all complete their 1.3 mile run.
Year 3 and Year 4 wowed the rest of the school today with their dress rehearsal of ‘Dragon Days’. Parents, you are in for a treat tomorrow!
