Children Attending School Through Lockdown
Once again the Government have taken the step of closing schools to the vast majority of pupils in order to help to stem the spread of Covid-19 (Coronavirus). This has been done at extremely short notice and we have been working hard to make plans that ensure the pupils can come to school and continue to follow the National Curriculum.
To this end, school will be open with the following staggered start and finish times.
Reception Class 9am – 3pm
Year 1 8.50am -3.10pm
Year 2 8.50am – 3.10pm
Year 3 9am – 3.20pm
Year 4 8.50am – 3.10pm
Year 5 8.50am – 3.10pm
Year 6 9am -3.20pm
All the existing routines for the yard and social distancing measures will still apply during this period. Please try to arrive for your start time. We would like all the children attending to wear their school uniform as normal. Please ensure this is washed regularly through the week to prevent the spread of infection.
Preschool Class-Preschool will follow their normal school times.
Preschool will be open through lockdown for all the parents that have responded to our survey and have chosen to send their child to school. There will be a slight change to the opening hours. Doors to Preschool will open at 9am and finish at the normal times.
If you are entitled to Free School Meals, they will be provided as normal whilst your child is in school. If you would like a school dinner and you are not entitled to Free School Meals- the normal charge will apply.
There will be teaching assistants in school full time, teaching the small groups of children attending school. They will be delivering the learning which will be set by the class teachers on a daily basis. The learning will follow their year groups normal curriculum. The class teachers will also be on site at varying times throughout the week. The office staff and Senior Leadership Team will also be present in the building.
Before and After School Club
Unfortunately, we are unable to offer before and after school care during this Lockdown period. The staff and children will not be mixing bubbles so therefore we have no alternative but to close it for the time being.
Thank you for your understanding and patience during this incredibly difficult and uncertain time. Your support is greatly valued. If you have any further queries, or would like anything to be explained in more depth, please contact us on 01282-812287 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Office hours are 8.30am -3.30pm
All procedures for limiting the entry to school will still apply as will the self-isolating guidance from Public Health England. If your family are currently self-isolating, we will not expect your child in school until this period ends.
